Experts of Wisdom Mart, a center in Delhi, share their step-by-step method to students who want to overcome their problems in the area of the writing module of the PTE Academic test. By following their guidance meticulously, students are well on their way to obtain high scores in the test.
  • The first step is to increase the amount of time allotted for reading. The most simple and readily available text is in the newspaper. Alternatively one can read articles on the Internet. It is important to read different types of texts such as sports, politics, the latest trends in science, human-interest stories, and also the views of the editor.

  • While reading it is very important to pay attention to the way English is used and the way the text is organized. Understand the main ideas and examples for and against the text. You should then try to analyze what you have read trying to form opinions.

  • First question that you ask yourself is ‘what is the author trying to communicate’. ‘What is the purpose of the text?’ It is usually difficult to remember all that one has read, even while reading. So use all the resources available to you, be it digital or hand written. You should focus on the keywords are the central ideas of the concepts and viewpoints. Bridge words will help in connecting these ideas to form a cohesive whole.  This will also facilitate you to follow the road that the author has taken to reach a conclusion or to show you the different ideas of the writer.

  • Many students use the vernacular to type messages on SMS or Whatsapp. If you discontinue this habit, it will open up an opportunity to write in English. Not only will you grasp the English language but soon you will start thinking in this language. This is just a short step away from writing emails. Maintaining a will help you to express your thoughts and describe events that happen every day.

  • The next step is to write while timing yourself. First read for five minutes, then make a concise summary by seeing how long to take to do it. Then pin point what the most difficult area was. It could be how to start, how to convey the ideas in as short a time a possible, or remembering what is to be written. Be honest to yourself and you will improve your writing skills.

  • Ask somebody to review what you have written. Someone who has a good command over the language will give you valuable feedback.

  • Create an excel sheet and make a note of the errors you have committed in grammar and usage of words. This will give you a ready reckoner as to the areas where you need to improve.  Learning from vocabulary lists will help you to expand your treasury.

  • Before you click on submit make sure that you check what you have written and make it error free. Wisdom is one of best PTE test centre in Delhi that will help you to achieve your maximum potential.
